The Memory Technology Resource Room (MTRR)

The Memory Technology Resource Room (MTRR) is based in Baile Mhuire.
This is one of 30 Memory Technology Resource Rooms nationally. This
service is managed daily by an Occupational Therapist and overseen by the
Board of Management. We also run a Satelite Clinic in Killarney.

The Kerry MTRR in Tralee is the first purpose built MTRR in the country.
The MTRR showcases a wide variety of Assistive Technology (AT) equipment
for people with dementia and memory difficulties to enable independence
and safety in activities of daily living. It allows a ‘hands on’ experience of AT
equipment to facilitate learning and experience of the products with the
support / advice of a professional.

The Occupational therapist provides advice on memory rehabilitation strategies, engagement in occupations and environmental adaptation and enhancement for clients.
