Stroke Day Service

Baile Mhuire Day Care Centre

The Stroke Day Service began in Oct 2018 to address some of the rehabilitation and social gaps for people with stroke in Kerry. It is a novel approach and provides both physical and mental stimulation programmes for clients post stroke.

The programme is a to 6-8 week programme offered one day a week where clients access physiotherapy, nursing support and various inputs from other allied health professionals. A range of mental stimulation activities are arranged including mindfulness, yoga and life coaching. The social aspect is one of the most important benefits of the programme and participants are finding new found confidence to interact and communicate in a supported environment.

There is no age limit or limit on length of time post stroke for participants and clients can self-refer or be referred by a health professional.

For enquiries please contact Baile Mhuire on 066 7123373.
